Sacramento Republic FC hosts the Orange County Blues FC in the second of three straight home matches at Hughes Stadium on the campus of Sacramento City College. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. with gates opening at 5:30 p.m.

Republic FC comes into the match after playing its inaugural home opener April 26 in front of a sold out crowd of 20,231. The crowd set a regular season record almost doubling the previous record of 10,697 set by Orlando City SC during the 2013 season. Republic FC did however fall to the Harrisburg City Islanders 1-2.

Harrisburg came out strong scoring in just the 5th minute when forward Robbie Dershang was able to get behind Republic FC’s defense. Republic FC responded well finding an equalizer off a Max Alvarez free kick in the 32nd minute. Alvarez placed the ball perfectly and San Jose loan player and Davis native Adam Jahn headed the ball into the goal.

The score remained 1-1 at half. Harrisburg again came out strong and scored in the 52nd minute. Harrisburg forward Morgan Langley showed great footwork to get around his defender and was able to get the ball past an onrushing Dominik Jakubek. Republic FC pressured the Harrisburg defense for the remainder of the match but were unable to break through.

Orange County Blues FC enters the match after a 3-0 loss to LA Galaxy II on April 27. Galaxy II scored their first goal in the 33rd minute and quickly scored their second and third goal in the 50th and 65th minute. Blues FC defender Mershad Momeni was shown a second yellow card in the 76th minute meaning he will be unavailable for the match.

Orange County won the only meeting between the two sides on April 12, earlier this season. Republic FC scored first in the 8th minute on Mickey Daly’s first goal of the year. Orange County answered back with a 19th minute goal off a penalty kick. The Blues took the lead on a free kick by Stephen Okai just outside the box after Republic FC defender Harrison Delbridge was shown a red card. The match was Republic FC’s first loss of the season.

The match will be broadcast live on KHTK Sports 1140 and streamed live on Republic FC’s YouTube channel and at SacRepublicFC.com. Updates will be provided via Twitter @SacRepublicFC or by using #SRFCvOCB.
