WATCH: Cultivating a Soccer Capital

From pick-up games at South Side Park to the days of the Sacramento Knights filling Arco Arena, the world’s game has long had roots in the heart of California’s capital. More than 20 current and former MLS players have ties to the region and Republic FC is already honing homegrown talent on the pitch with local players such as Max Alvarez and Cameron Iwasa.

In addition to their USL side, Sacramento Republic FC will continue to cultivate an indomitable city through soccer with the launch of their U.S. Soccer Academy program, which kicks off their season in Fall 2015.
