Sacramento Republic FC goalkeeper Dominik Jakubek will be at the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink to celebrate the season landmark’s 25th season as Sacramento’s favorite urban holiday tradition.
Jakubek will be at Friday’s Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 10 a.m. The ice rink will open to the public at 2 p.m. and will be open until 10 p.m. Skaters may enjoy $2 off admission for Friday’s Opening Day Special.

Founded in 1991, the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink presented by Downtown Commons has been a seasonal landmark and treasured holiday tradition in Sacramento, serving as a popular holiday destination and launching pad for exploring the urban core of downtown Sacramento.
Republic FC has participated in every Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink Opening Day since the club’s inaugural season in 2014. Max Alvarez attended the ribbon cutting ceremony in 2014 and Jakubek, who is attending this year’s event, also attended last year.
The seasonal ice rink is open daily from November 4, 2016 to January 16, 2017 and provides skate and locker rentals on site. The rink is open Monday through Thursday from 2-8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., with select holiday hours.
