July was a productive month for Matt Mahoney. The defender played the full 90 minutes in Republic FC's matches against Portland Timbers 2, Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, and New Mexico United. In Republic FC's 1-0 win against Portland, Mahoney made a crucial goal line save on Ryan Sierakowski's shot in the 59th minute after Josh Cohen had come off his line. Mahoney again stepped up with another goal line save against RGVFC.
Sam Werner continues to impress this season, with this being his third time in a row to be in the running for Five Star Bank Player of Month. Werner continued his goalscoring form, finding the back of the net against New Mexico United with a perfectly placed shot tucked into the lefthand side of the goal. The 23-year-old midfielder played in every match in July, racking up 424 minutes on the field.
Hayden Partain nabbed his second goal of the 2019 season, scoring the match winning goal in Republic FC's 1-0 win over Portland Timbers 2. In the 41st minute, Partain connected with Juan Barahona's cross into the 18-yard box and calmly put his shot past T2 goalkeeper Jake Leeker. Partain played a total of 346 minutes throughout July, and kept a passing accuracy of 83.86 percent.
