Keven Aleman had a brilliant month of August, starting in four of five of the Indomitable Club’s matches and playing a total of 327 minutes. The midfielder secured two assists in Republic FC’s 4-0 win against Colorado Springs Switchbacks. Aleman first played give-and-go with Jaime Villarreal for the latter to put Republic FC ahead in the 31st minute. He nabbed his second assist in the 72nd minute on Cameron Iwasa’s goal. The 25-year-old Canadian had an 84.82 passing accuracy throughout August, with 93 passes completed.
Jaime Villarreal scored his second goal of the season in Republic FC’s 4-0 win over the Switchbacks, while playing a total of 346 minutes across five starts. The 24-year-old midfielder completed a total of 212 passes, recording a 78.9 percent pass accuracy. Villarreal also contributed to the Sacramento defense, winning 19 duels, and posting 11 tackles and nine interceptions.
Defender Juan Barahona has found his rhythm in the Republic FC backline, playing a total of 445 minutes across five matches in August – all starts. The defender won 42 duels throughout the month, helping deliver two clean sheets for the Indomitable Club, first against Las Vegas Lights FC, and another against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. Barahona completed 182 passes in his five starts, also getting an assist in Republic FC’s 3-2 win over San Antonio.
