SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento Republic FC unveiled the club’s new away jersey for the 2020 USL Championship season. The Old Glory Red sash returns to the away kit for the first time since its debut in 2014 – the club’s inaugural season and historic championship run. The Heritage Kit complements the club’s home kit launched in 2019 and returning for the 2020 season.
The new jersey is available immediately and can be purchased at Republic FC’s new team store in Midtown and online via the club’s website. The kit sold in-store and online is the same worn by the club’s players on the pitch.
“As Republic FC fans look ahead to a bright future and the excitement of our seventh season, this jersey allows us to look back at our heritage, and the journey our fans and club have been on,” said Republic FC President & COO Ben Gumpert. “Everything we build upon together at this club is rooted in our foundation, and this kit is a great way to celebrate that.”
The Old Glory Red sash at the heart of the jersey is drawn directly from the California state flag, the banner of our bear republic. A second sash, reflected in Nike’s energy pattern, is layered over and accents the main sash. UC Davis Health, the club’s partner since its inception, is prominently displayed across the chest. Printed along the inner base of the jersey is Sacramento’s official motto, Urbs Indomita— “Indomitable City”—a reminder to those wearing the kit on and off the pitch of the city’s unyielding spirit and who we represent.
The 2020 USL Championship season will kickoff when Republic FC host FC Tulsa on March 7. Native Sacramentan and Top-10 finalist from season 17 of NBC’s The Voice, Shane Q will perform the national anthem. Fans will be welcomed on the pitch for a post-game fireworks show. Tickets for the club’s seventh home opener, as well as two more March matches, are available at SacRepublicFC.com/Tickets.
