SACRAMENTO, Calif. (April 21, 2016) – On Saturday, Apr. 23, the Copa America Centenario trophy will be on display at Sacramento Republic FC’s match against Saint Louis FC. Kickoff to the match is 7:30 p.m. with gates opening at 6 p.m. The trophy makes a visit to Bonney Field as a part of a nationwide tour celebrating the 100th anniversary of the world’s second-largest soccer event in the world, with additional Northern California stops in San Francisco, San Jose and Santa Clara.
Fans at Saturday’s Republic FC match will have the opportunity to take photos with the trophy prior to kickoff as well as during halftime. Fans are also encouraged to use #Copa100 to celebrate the tournament.
The 2016 Copa America will open on Friday, June 3 at Levi’s Stadium when the United States Men’s National Team face Colombia at 7:30 p.m. Levi’s Stadium will host several Copa matches, including a rematch of the 2015 Copa America final between Argentina and Chile on June 6, Uruguay vs. Jamaica on June 13, and a quarterfinal match between the winner of Group C and the runner-up in Group D on June 18.
