Join Sacramento Republic FC defender Emrah Klimenta this Friday, Dec. 9 at the Nutty Nutcracker Ballet presented by the Sacramento Ballet.
The Nutty Nutcracker takes the original ballet and adds a variety of modern twists. Featured in the performance are scenes and characters not found in the beloved classic Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky ballet, such as sports figures, pop culture icons and even animals. This year's zany performance will not only feature Klimenta, but also members of the Tower Bridge Battalion.
This will be Klimenta’s second appearance in the Sacramento Ballet’s Nutty Nutcracker, having appeared in last year’s edition as well. The Sacramento Ballet and Republic FC have collaborated a number of times through the club’s existence. Aside from appearing in the last Nutty Nutcracker, Republic FC also unveiled the club’s 2016 kit with help from the Sacramento Ballet in a performance at the Crest Theatre that also featured violinist Joe Kye.
Earlier this year, Republic FC also awarded a Glory Glory Sacramento Fund grant to the Capital Dance Project, a collaboration of dancers from the Sacramento Ballet that aim to elevate the community through the arts. The project allows artists to make a living while also bringing the arts to underserved communities in Sacramento.
