SACRAMENTO, Calif. (June 20, 2017) – Sacramento Republic FC is providing a variety of complimentary amenities during tomorrow’s home match versus Rio Grande Valley FC Toros to keep fans cool as record temperatures are anticipated. The additional amenities are among several efforts to improve the experience at Papa Murphy’s Park under the new ownership group led by Kevin Nagle.
All ticket holders attending the match will be provided hand fans courtesy of UC Davis Health and free ice cream. Multiple water stations will be set up for fans to refill water bottles at no charge, enhancing existing facility policy that allows fans to bring unopened bottles of water to matches. In addition to the shade tents and water misters recently added in The Market, additional shade, industrial fans and water misting stations have been brought in for tomorrow’s match. For fans looking for other ways to quench their thirst, all 20oz craft beers will be $10 prior to kickoff.
Temperatures are anticipated to drop by as much as 12 degrees when the sun sets at 8:33 p.m. As such, the match kickoff time has been moved to 8:15 p.m. to accommodate players and fans. Per USL guidelines, should the temperature be above 89.6 degrees on the wet bulb globe temperature read, the players will also be provided up to two hydration breaks held at approximately the 30 minute mark of each half. Decision to implement these breaks is solely that of the referees.
Tickets are still available and may be purchased at Ticketmaster.com. The Papa Murphy’s Park Box Office will be open at 6:30 p.m. for all walk up sales on the day of the match. Tickets start at $20.
