Saturday was a roller coaster of emotions that unfortunately took a turn for the worse for Sacramento Republic FC in their match against Reno 1868 FC. The home side scored early in the match, with Jure Matjasic getting his first goal with Republic FC in the 2nd minute. Cameron Iwasa would double the lead in 12th minute. Justin Schmidt lofted a superb ball for the forward to simply trap and beat Reno goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski, notching Iwasa's fourth goal of the season.
The second half would see Reno score three unanswered goals in the span of five minutes to take the lead. Republic FC pressed forward late in the half looking for the equalizer but the home side would ultimately concede their first home loss of the 2018 season.
One defeat won't hurt the great progress this group of players has made. Tough to loose but it will be even better how we bounce back, Vamos!!— Rebelcacike (@rebelcacike) May 13, 2018
Tough one to swallow last night but we learn and we bounce back. Happy Mother’s Day to all the mommas out there!— Cameron Iwasa (@cam31iwasa) May 13, 2018
