The 15-year-old will travel to Florida for the U-16 BNT's fifth training camp of the year.

CHICAGO (Sept. 11, 2018) – Sacramento Republic FC Academy goalkeeper Gavin Krenecki has been called up to the U.S. Under-16 Boys’ National Team that will gather for a training camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, from September 12 to 19.

Krenecki is one of 36 players called up for this age group’s fifth training camp of 2018. The Fair Oaks native was previously called up to the U-16 BNT in April to play in the annual Torneo delle Nazioni in Gradisca d'Isonzo, Italy, where the U.S. finished third. He was also called up for the U-16 BNT training camp this past June, also held at the IMG Academy.

A member of the Republic FC Academy since 2016, Krenecki was also part of the first-ever U.S. Soccer Men’s Youth National Team Summit in early January, along with fellow Republic FC Academy players Kwabena Boateng, Hunter George and Quincy Butler. The camp featured players from the U-16s all the way up to the U-20s.

Krenecki currently plays for the Republic FC Academy U-16/17 team, which began its U.S. Soccer Development Academy season last weekend. The team will face off against Ballistic United SC this Saturday, September 15th, at 12:30 p.m. at Cosumnes River College.
