Take a look at our community investment off the pitch
Each year, Republic FC partners with numerous local nonprofits to uplift the community and make a lasting impact on today’s youth through various programs. From 2019 to the present, the club has engaged with 2,513 nonprofits, made 772 player appearances in the community, and opened 12 futsal courts. Sacramento’s contributions have generated $2.1 million in in-kind investments for the region, with plans to continue strengthening the community both on and off the pitch through ongoing collaborations with nonprofit partners.
Last month, Republic FC hosted its annual Nonprofit Mixer, bringing together local organizations to spotlight the club’s community initiatives and discuss partnership opportunities for the 2024 season. Nearly 200 organizations from across the region attended, leaving with new relationships, opportunities, and fresh ideas for aligning with the club’s social responsibility goals. Additionally, in June and July, the club made 46 donations totaling $7,218 to support local nonprofits and their missions.
Looking ahead, Republic FC has teamed up with the Special Olympics Unified Team and is preparing for a milestone weekend as the squad embarks on its first-ever road trip to Southern California. They’ll compete against Unified Teams from MLS clubs LAFC on Saturday and LA Galaxy on Sunday.
Unified Sports brings together athletes with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team, inspired by the simple principle that training and playing together fosters friendship and understanding. Republic FC is among the first USL Championship teams to establish a partnership with local Special Olympics chapters and now competes alongside all 29 Major League Soccer Unified Teams
