The Indomitable Club – representing the Mexican National Team – will be gunning for promotion to the top division next week in the eCup virtual tournament following a 4-1 loss to OKC Energy FC – competing as Portugal.
The result places Republic FC in Division B as the boys in Old Glory Red will resume play with El Tri in the PS4 competition early next week. Following this week’s play-in bracket, all 32 teams will be divided into three divisions with SRFC’s fate secured in the second tier but dates, times and teams will be determined later this week.
Forward Frank Lopes was in charge of the 2016 UEFA European Champions for Thursday’s – postponed from Wednesday following technical difficulties – contest and had his side in front in the fourth minute when Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first of two goals. Gonçalo Guedes doubled his teams’ lead in the 30th minute before Ronaldo bagged his brace to give the Portuguese a 3-0 advantage at the half. Joao Cancelo’s 73rd minute goal made it 4-0 for the visiting European powerhouse.
