Republic FC and the Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) are teaming up for the club’s 10th Season Celebration Match on Saturday, August 26, making it easier for fans to make their way to Hughes Stadium at City College for the historic event. Starting at 3:00 p.m. and running through the end of service on Saturday, all fans with a match ticket can take advantage of free light rail and bus rides to and from Hughes Stadium.
SacRT provides 21 free park-and-ride lots throughout the region where fans can park their car and hop on the light rail or bus for the match. Light rail riders will need to take the Blue Line, while bus riders can choose between routes 11 and 62 – all options stop at the City College Station, which is only a brief walk from Hughes Stadium and the official pregame destination, Track 7 Brewing. Fans can find additional trip planning assistance based on their starting location by visiting SacRT.com/PlanYourTrip or calling 916-321-BUSS (2877).
With an expected crowd of 20,000 people – the biggest crowd that USL Championship has seen this season – and limited on-campus parking available, the club is encouraging fans to consider alternate transportation options. In addition to free SacRT rides, free bike parking and valet will be available, courtesy of Spare the Air and Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates, and an official rideshare pick-up and drop-off location has been established on campus. For more information about parking and transportation, visit SacRepublicFC.com/Hughes.
Beginning at 5:00 p.m., fans are invited to gather at Track 7 for pregame festivities, including special appearances from former Republic FC players and $1 off any of the brewery’s core beers for anyone in club gear. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. and limited tickets are still available at SacRepublicFC.com/Hughes. The match will also be broadcast live in English and Spanish on FOX40, FOX40.com and the FOX40 News mobile app, as well as streaming on ESPN+.
