Sacramento Republic FC is taking fans back to the bold, colorful era of 1990s sports design with the launch of the “Fauxback” collection, created in collaboration with Sacramento-based lifestyle brand Authmade and kit provider hummel. Leading the pack is the ‘Attack’ kit, a limited-edition retro-inspired jersey that reimagines what SRFC could have looked like if the club existed in the golden age of oversized wordmarks, geometric patterns, and fierce mascots.
The ‘Attack’ kit is unapologetically 90s, oversized, and full of attitude. Its bold claw graphics across the shoulders, vintage collar, and sleeveless cut capture the era’s energy while delivering a modern, wearable fit. The design pulls inspiration from that era’s bold visual language — oversized wordmarks, geometric shapes, and fierce mascots — while grounding everything in authentic California symbolism. Loud, retro-inspired typography and graphic accents give the jersey a nostalgic edge, creating a look that feels both vintage and completely fresh. Every curve, angle, and graphic placement was carefully considered to echo the spirit of 90s athletic wear while feeling uniquely Sacramento.
At the center of the design is the special Fauxback crest, a geometric grizzly that embodies grit, strength, and attitude — a nod to what the club could have been. The retro crest adds a commanding “Sacramento Republic FC” wordmark above the mascot for clarity and presence on the field. Fans will also notice the secondary “Claw Ball” mark, with knuckles forming stars in tribute to the California flag, while an arched wordmark and a five-pointed Tower Bridge Gold star tie the entire design back to Sacramento’s identity.
The color palette makes the collection instantly recognizable: Grizzly Brown reflects strength, California Green nods to state pride, Resilient Red bridges the imagined past with today, and Tower Bridge Gold adds a historic Sacramento accent. Fans can celebrate the kit in person at the Fauxback Launch Party on Wednesday, September 10, at 428 J Street in Sacramento. Attendees will get a first look at the collection, grab exclusive merch, enjoy music and drinks, and watch the USL Jagermeister Cup Semifinal against Rhode Island live.
