Our annual Stoppage Time Sale kicks off this Friday, Oct. 27 at the Sacramento Republic FC Team Store (2421 17th St, Sacramento). The sale will be in-store ONLY from Friday through Sunday.       Republic FC head to Kansas this Saturday as they face Swope Park Rangers at Children's Mercy Park in the USL Western Conference Semifinals. Kickoff is 2 PM PDT. 

      The match will be broadcast live on TV through CW31 for fans in the Sacramento region. Fans can also stream the match live at https://www.sacrepublicfc.com/matchday-guide or on the USL Match Center. 

      But why watch the match alone? Join us at one of our watch parties and cheer on the boys with more fans! Currently we have watch parties confirmed at SacTown Sports Bar in Old Sacramento, and at de Vere's Irish Pub and Chando's Cantina, both located in downtown Sacramento. We've also added watch parties in Elk Grove at Bull Wings Bar and Grill, in Rocklin at The Brass Tap and our newest location Grist Beer Hall in Folsom. There will be Republic FC promotions team members at all the watch parties, with raffles and prizes for fans.

      Match Recap: Sacramento Republic FC 1, Real Monarchs SLC 1 (1-3)

      The match began very close with both teams feeling each other out and trying not to give up an early goal.  Republic FC would see the best opportunity of the half in the 34th minute.  On a counter attack, Villyan Bijev started a four-on-two chance with a run down the middle of the pitch.  He took the ball to about 25 yards out drawing the two defenders to the middle before passing the ball wide to Wilson Kneeshaw who went one-on-one with Connor Sparrow.  The forward took a touch or two before blasting a shot toward goal, but a sliding Real Monarchs defender was there for the clearance to keep the match scoreless.

      The chance sparked a flurry of chances for Republic FC capped off by a free kick in stoppage time. Kneeshaw was brought down about 25 yards out on the right side, setting up the free kick.  Chris Christian stepped up and blasted a left-footed shot that beat the wall, but Sparrow was quick to get to his side to block the ball away and end the half scoreless.

      Republic FC had the best chance of the first extra time period.  In the 91st minute Elliott Hord began the play by taking the ball down the right side of the field.  Hord then sent a cross into the box that found substitute midfielder Hayden Partain who was wide open in the middle of the box.  Partain leapt in the air and headed a ball on goal, but Sparrow was there again to keep the match at 1-1.

      Republic FC would have the best chance second extra time period as well.  In the 117th minute, Hord again sent a cross into the box, and this time Sparrow was quick off his line to punch the ball away.  Sparrow’s punch however only got as far as Lamin Suma who settled the ball and sent a chipped ball toward goal that beat the keeper, but went just centimeters over the bar.  The match would then be forced into penalties.

      Danny Cruz took the first penalty for the Monarchs and skied it over the bar, opening the door for Republic FC.  After  Partain buried his penalty Sebastian Velasquez stepped up, but Newton was there to save the shot as the midfielder attempted to sneak the ball by the keeper’s left hand.  After James Kiffe, Daniel Haber for the Monarchs and Jeremy Hall all netted their penalties, it was Newton again who came up big, this time saving Hoffman’s second penalty of the game and advancing Republic FC into the Western Conference Semifinals where they will face the winner of Phoenix Rising FC vs Swope Park Rangers.       Sacramento Republic FC Offer Multiple Ways for Fans to Watch Tonights Quarterfinal Playoff Match

(October 20, 2017) – Sacramento Republic FC will host three watch parties and stream their own broadcast production of their USL Cup Western Conference Quarterfinal match against Real Monarchs SLC tonight, Friday, Oct. 20.  The match kicks off at 7 p.m. PT and will be streamed live via YouTube at www.sacrepublicfc.com/matchday-guide and GoodDaySacramento.com. 

      SACRAMENTO, Calif. Republic FC and KOVR won an Emmy for their production of the 2014 USL Cup Championship Match.

Republic FC averages 1.8 goals per match in the playoffs, while allowing just 0.8 goals per playoff match and recording two shutouts.

      Republic FC come into the match after a 2-2 draw with Reno 1868 FC on Saturday, Oct. 14.  Forward Sammy Ochoa scored a brace and Evan Newton recorded seven saves to earn a result for Republic FC at a very difficult place to do so, Greater Nevada Field. 

      The brace was the second of the season for Ochoa, who leads Republic FC with eight goals on the season. Ochoa also recorded six assists on the season, which is tied with James Kiffe for the club lead. Ochoa has scored eight or more goals and led his club in scoring in each of the last three seasons.

      Kiffe recorded the assist on Ochoa’s first goal.  The assist was Kiffe’s sixth on the season and a new career-high for the defender.  Kiffe also played every available minute in the 2017 USL season, completing the feat never previously achieved by a Republic FC player.  The defender also leads the USL in crosses (257) and is fourth in chances created (61).

      Midfielder Jeremy Hall was another iron man for Republic FC, playing all but 90 minutes of the 2017 USL season.  Hall’s only missed game came on Aug. 23 when he was suspended for caution accumulation.  Hall was an important part of Republic FC, playing at least three different positions, scoring two goals and recording an assist.  The midfielder also led the USL in passes with 2,148, over 400 more then the second player in the league.  In fact, Hall completed more passes (1,890) than Matt LaGrassa, the league’s second highest passer, attempted (1,720).

      The Monarchs have never played a USL Cup playoff match in their history.  Prior to this season, they had not finished higher then 11th place and had a combined record of 17-27-14. 

      Chandler Hoffman has arguably been the Monarchs and possibly even the USL MVP this season. The forward scored a team-leading 16 goals, while recording seven assists, second-most on the club. Hoffman has been a force in the USL since 2014, scoring 50 goals and recording 12 assists in over 90 career USL appearances for Real Monarchs, Louisville City FC, Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and LA Galaxy II. Hoffman has three goals and two assists in six career matches against Republic FC.

      Sebastian Velasquez has also been an important player for the Monarchs.  The Colombian midfielder scored nine goals and recorded six assists on the season, coming in second and third respectively in each category.  Velasquez also created 38 chances, second-most on the club. Velasquez previously played with the Monarchs’ MLS parent club, Real Salt Lake, New York City FC (MLS) and Rayo OKC (NASL).

      Republic FC will host three official watch parties at SacTown Sports Bar in Old Sacramento, The Brass Tap in Rocklin and Bull Wings Bar and Grill in Elk Grove. SacTown Sports Bar is located at 106 J St., The Brass Tap is located at 5150 Commons Dr. in Rocklin and Bull Wings is located at 9625 E Stockton Blvd. in Elk Grove.  Fans are encouraged to arrive early for best seating.

      UC Davis Health and Sacramento Republic FC Announce Binding MLS Jersey Sponsorship

      SACRAMENTO, Calif. (October 16, 2017) – Sacramento Republic FC (Republic FC) and UC Davis Health have formalized a partnership establishing UC Davis Health as the founding jersey or “kit” sponsor for Republic FC’s Major League Soccer (MLS) club. The agreement is believed to be the first-ever binding jersey sponsorship secured prior to a team earning formal entry to MLS.

      The agreement formalizes the partnership between Republic FC and UC Davis Health first announced in July 2016. The five-year deal would run from Republic FC’s inaugural season at the MLS level (expected to be 2020) through the 2024 season.

      Match Recap: Sacramento Republic FC 2, Reno 1868 FC 2

      The match started well for Republic FC who came out strong and on the front foot. In just the 16th minute Republic FC would break through the Reno 1868 FC defense for the first goal of the match.  Defender James Kiffe brought the ball down the left side of the field near the edge of the box before sending in a cross to the middle of the box.  Forward Sammy Ochoa ran into the middle before leaping over two defenders and heading the ball down and past the keeper Matt Bersano, putting Republic FC ahead 1-0 early.

      Reno 1868 FC would find their equalizer near the halftime whistle in the 41st minute.  Midfielder Seth Casiple played the ball to Chris Wehan in the middle near the top of the box.  Wehan turned and played a one-two with forward Brent Richards who put the ball right back to the foot of Wehan for him to tap the ball past Evan Newton to level the score 1-1 going into the half.

      Despite numerous chances for both sides, including a few attacks from Kneeshaw and a corner attempt by Reno that was batted around multiple times in the box, the match ended in a 2-2 draw.

      Republic FC will await the result of the Oklahoma City Energy FC versus Seattle Sounders FC 2 match on Sunday, Oct. 15 to determine where they will play their USL Cup Western Conference Quarterfinal playoff match.  With an Energy FC win, tie or loss by one goal when scoring two or more goals, Republic FC will face Real Monarchs SLC.  If Energy FC lose by more then one goal, or lose by one goal, but fail to score two goals, Republic FC will face San Antonio FC in the first round.
