With the support of presenting partner Sky River Casino, this year’s Brewfest has been expanded to accommodate more vendors than ever before. Over 30 breweries and wineries will be in attendance to sample their products and tell their unique stories.

Attendees will receive a free mini stein for unlimited samples, as well as entry to that night’s match against San Antonio FC (kickoff at 8:00 p.m.).

“Art is a way we can tell our story”: Meet the Tribal Leader behind this year’s Native American Heritage artwork

This Saturday, Republic FC is teaming up with Wilton Rancheria and Sky River Casino to honor the culture and heritage of indigenous people in the region at Native American Heritage Night. In addition to on-field activations and presentations, special artwork will be displayed throughout the stadium, a makers market will showcase local, indigenous businesses, fans can claim a free scarf and pick up limited-edition merchandise items. In partnership with Wilton Rancheria and Republic FC’s in-house design team, the art was designed by Chairman Andrew Alejandre from the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians.

“The Miwok and Nisenan people have inhabited this region since time immemorial, but they are not alone here,” said Wilton Rancheria Chief of Staff Samantha Cypret on selecting Chairman Alejandre as this year’s featured artist. “There are Native people from Tribes across the nation who call this region home and tonight is a time to honor and celebrate everyone. Including Chairman Alejandre’s beautiful art on the scarf and other items is an exciting way to highlight some of the other Tribes in the Central California region.”

Chairman Alejandre’s path to graphic design started as a young boy as he saw his relatives share their passion and craft. “I grew up in a family of artists on my mom’s side. I was fortunate to have spent a lot of time around them as a young boy and was inspired to draw,” he said. “I continued to draw growing up and dreamed of owning a clothing brand one day, and that is where I discovered graphic design.”

After getting familiar with design software in high school and later accepting an internship at Tepa Companies – an entity of his tribe, he was accepted into the Art Institute of Sacramento and earned a degree in Graphic Design. He went on to build his own clothing brand before taking a role as Tribal Leader for the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians and now uses his skills and creativity to design branding for a wide range of Tribal-based companies and organizations, including Paskenta Brewery & Distillery and Rolling Hills Casino. “I have enjoyed working with my tribe, tribal organizations, and other tribes on projects. They are more meaningful, and I feel connected to them as a Native man and artist,” he said. “When I work on these types of projects, there is just a natural flow that happens while creating, it feels good and it feels right.”

For this year’s Native American Heritage Night artwork, Chairman Alejandre drew inspiration from designs found in Native American basketry, which holds significance for him and all Native people. “These basket patterns come from generations before my time. Our ancestors created and utilized them, and now we are able to showcase them in a modern way, while still paying respects and showing representation.”

For Chairman Alejandre, art and design are how he can share his culture, with his tribe, with other tribes, and the general public. “We as Native people are so proud of who we are, where we come from, and want to share that with the world, and it allows us to teach others a little bit about us,” he said. “Art is a way we can tell our story, we can share who we are, and where we come from. It’s been with us for many generations and is one of the strongest ways that we can continue to share our culture and traditions so that they can live on forever. We can continue to teach those who do may not know our ways of life, and most importantly make it be known that we are still here.”

The first 2,000 fans in attendance at Saturday’s match will receive a commemorative scarf designed by Chairman Alejandre. A special Native American Heritage Night shirt and hat will also be available in the Team Store.

Calling Fans 21+: Watch Republic FC’s March 23 Match at Sky River Casino’s 32 Brews Street

Join Republic FC and Sky River Casino for the first-ever adults-only watch party on March 23, when the club takes on Indy Eleven on the road. Whether you’re looking for Parents’ Night Out, a spot to cheer on your favorite soccer team, or a one-stop shop for your Saturday night plans, you don’t want to miss this exciting opportunity.

Starting at 3:30 p.m., fans can gather at 32 Brews Street – one of Sky River Casino’s 17 on-site bars and restaurants. The first 32 fans to arrive in Republic FC gear will receive a free appetizer, and with more than 80 TVs in the restaurants, fans will have a spectacular view of all the action on the pitch. A special menu will be available for the night as well, featuring fun soccer-themed food and 32 Brew Street’s custom cocktail – The Republic FC – with rum, apricot, pineapple, and lime juice.

Republic FC’s Cap City Crew will also be in attendance with plenty of giveaways and contests to get everyone fired up for the game.

Before and after the matchup, fans can check out Sky River Casino’s 100,000 square feet of gaming space featuring over 2,100 slot machines and 80 table games.

All guests must be 21 years and older to enter the Sky River Casino property, including 32 Brews Street.

Sky River Casino will now become Republic FC’s exclusive Casino & Gaming Partner, and will be featured throughout Heart Health Park and on match broadcasts. With a shared commitment to investing in the community, the partners will also use their shared platform to honor and support the Wilton Rancheria tribe and the indigenous people who have called Sacramento home for thousands of years.

The citizens of Wilton Rancheria are indigenous to territory within Sacramento County and are descendants of Miwok-speaking tribes. Wilton Rancheria is the only federally recognized tribe in Sacramento County, regaining its status in 2009, 45 years after termination by the federal government. Since it opened in August 2022, Sky River Casino has enjoyed tremendous success, with exciting expansion plans in the works.

The Indomitable Club will also host a special youth soccer clinic for the children of Wilton Rancheria later this year.

To celebrate the start of the partnership, Republic FC and Sky River Casino will host a watch party at 32 Brews Street Gastropub. One of the casino’s unique dining destinations, 32 Brews is a premier sports bar offering wall-to-wall TVs and deluxe food and beverage offerings. The March 23 watch party is free and open to any 21 and over. Throughout the season, fans will be able to watch every Republic FC match at 32 Brews, as well as enjoy signature menu items including a Republic FC cocktail.

Republic FC’s 11^th campaign starts on Saturday, March 9 when the club hosts Orange County SC at Heart Health Park. The Indomitable Club is looking to build on a strong 2023 season that saw Republic FC finish on top of the Western Conference regular season table, reach new milestones, and earn several honors across the league. With a majority of the roster returning for 2024, the club is ready to pick up where it left off, focused on bringing a championship to Sacramento.
