On the call, Dunivant gave an inside look into the clubhouse – combing over the roster, and previewing the new additions to the boys in Old Glory Red. And at the end of his season preview, Todd unveiled the special surprise in store. Before the club formally introduced him, Republic fans had the first chance to welcome Luis Felipe to the club and pepper him with some questions.
Dunivant introduced Luis Felipe as Sacramento’s new midfielder to open-mouthed faces in shock that Republic FC was inking a player directly from Major League Soccer.

“Luis Felipe adds another leader with a winning mentality to our midfield. He is a physical presence that can break up plays, which will help us manage and control games the way we want to in 2021,” said Republic FC General Manager Todd Dunivant. “He is a great addition to our locker room and will have a major impact on both sides of the ball.”
Republic FC fans were treated to one last surprise as our friends at VJB Cellars wanted to thank fans for giving Felipe a warm welcome by supplying a special prize pack that included a complimentary wine tasting for four and a bottle of their Dante-Cabernet-Sangiovese blend to the first fan to guess what number Luis Felipe would wear in 2021.
