But with the necessary shift to remote education, the virtual classroom is a short-term fix to help keep students learning and continue the connections with their teachers and peers.
To help bring some additional excitement and educational opportunities for teachers, Republic FC players and coaches have been popping into digital classrooms since April, providing a change of pace and some unique insight into the lives of a professional athlete. It’s no surprise that with a special guest, the excitement in the video chat changes. And it’s refreshing for students to learn about how players are keeping healthy and fit during these unique times, sharing in some of the challenges and frustrations that they may be experiencing. In just under a month, over 1,600 students from 42 region schools have enjoyed a visit from Republic FC.
