Sacramento Republic FC welcomed Liverpool FC U21s—who landed Thursday evening—to Sacramento ahead of a pair of international friendlies against the two sides. Republic FC will play Liverpool FC U21s at Bonney Field on Saturday, May 21 at 7:30 p.m., followed by the squads traveling to Reno to play at Greater Nevada Field on Wednesday, May 25.
Ahead of the pair of friendlies, Liverpool FC U21s released their traveling squad roster on Friday morning. Joining the young reds are several players who earned regular time with Liverpool FC’s first team this past season to supplement Jurgen Klopp‘s roster.
Headlining the Liverpool FC U21s travel roster are Cameron Brannagan, Connor Randall and Kevin Stewart, all recent graduates to the first team. Brannagan recently earned his first Premier League start with Liverpool FC against West Brom Albion on May 15. During the match, Brannagan had a standout performance in the midfield, recording both the highest passing accuracy and most touches of any player on the Liverpool FC side.
The U21s travel roster also features Spaniard Sergi Canos, who made his first team debut earlier this month, also during the West Brom Albion match as a substitute in the 80th minute of the 1-1 draw.
U.S. Men’s U-20 National Team player Brooks Lennon is also among the 21-man travel roster for Liverpool FC U21s.
Saturday’s friendly between Republic FC and Liverpool FC U21s kicks off at 7:30 p.m. PT (3:30 a.m. GMT May 22) at Bonney Field. Tickets to the match are on sale at Ticketmaster.com. Walk-up ticket sales will start ay 6 p.m. at the Bonney Field box office on matchday.
Republic FC vs Liverpool FC U21s will be streamed live at www.sacrepublicfc.com/matchday. Live updates will be available on Twitter @SacRepublicFC and via the hashtag #SACvLFCU21s.
