Sacramento Republic FC Headquarters and Team Store will be serving as a drop-off site for in-kind donations of items such as clothing, daily household items and hygiene necessities that will be delivered to the Castillo family, a family of Republic FC fans who lost everything in a house fire last week.
- Fans may help the Castillo family by making a donation via Go Fund Me
- Fans also welcome to drop off requested items to the Republic FC Team Store, which is serving as a donation drop-off site.
- Clothing requested for girls ages 3, 6, 8 and 8 as well as adult family members (two women, size large and two men size large and XL/XXL)
- Items will be picked up from the Team Store Saturday afternoon for delivery.

Carlos Raul Castillo, a Republic FC fan who volunteers as a coach for Land Park Soccer, lost his family home last week. The fire destroyed all of the family’s possessions including furniture, clothes and other daily life essentials for the family of eight.
On Wednesday afternoon, Republic FC shared with fans a Go Fund Me page set up to help the family through their difficult times. Members of the Republic FC community were quick to respond by donating more than $1,000 online in 24 hours, with forward Harry Williams and former Republic FC player Ivan Mirković making donations alongside Republic FC staff members and fans.
Republic FC President Warren Smith, as well as Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle are also making donations to the family on behalf of the club.
“Thank you guys so much this means a lot to our family,” said Castillo on Facebook. “Words can't explain how we feel about your guys’ support. Thank you Republic FC fans.”
To further assist the family, Republic FC Executive Vice President Joe Wagoner is working with a family friend of the Castillo family to collect items to help relieve some of the family’s immediate needs.
Donations for the Castillo family may be dropped off at the Team Store, which is located at 2421 17th Street in Sacramento. The Team Store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday of this week and open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
For fans who would like to donate Christmas gifts for the girls (all presents were lost in the fire), please drop off at the Team Store by Friday at 6 p.m. so there is adequate time to get them to the family.
