In celebration of Pride Month, Republic FC will be hosting Equality Night during this Saturday’s match against Phoenix Rising FC at Papa Murphy’s Park.
In celebration of Pride Month, Republic FC will be hosting Equality Night during this Saturday’s match against Phoenix Rising FC at Papa Murphy’s Park.
The club will be celebrating the diversity of the Sacramento region and honoring members of the LGBTQ community throughout the match. Players will be wearing “#RepublicForAll” shirts during warmups and the team captain will don a special pride-themed armband, while the pitch will feature pride-themed corner flags.
At halftime, Republic FC will honor four local LGBTQ leaders for their work in the Sacramento community: Christopher Kent, President of Lavender Library; Lisa Wrightsman and Tiffany Fraser, Program Director and Program Development & Coach for Street Soccer USA, respectively; a representative from Equality California; and Elizah Claborne, Americorps Youth Advocate for the LGBT Center.

Fans can purchase a special ticket package that includes admission to the match and a limited edition Sacramento Pride x Republic FC scarf. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Sacramento LGBT Community Center; season ticket holders who purchase the package can choose to donate their ticket to the Center.
The first 2,500 fans to enter the stadium will receive free glow sticks courtesy of the California Endowment Fund.
