Iwasa joined SRFC in the 2015 season, appearing in 22 matches in all competitions with 16 of those appearances being USL regular season matches. His first professional goal scored was against Portland Timbers 2 on April 2, 2015. He also scored the winning goal against the English Premier League team Sunderland AFC in a friendly at Bonney Field on July 14. During his debut season, he led all Republic FC rookies in minutes (815) and USL minutes (564).

Iwasa then got the opportunity to sign an MLS contract with Sporting Kansas City for the 2017 season. He appeared in 22 USL regular season games on loan to Swope Park Rangers, recording two goals and two assists.
