Created by Chinese artist Lin Fei Fei, the design is an adaptation of her Fútbol in Action piece that won the club’s Paint the Park: A Celebration of Sacramento Art competition earlier this year.

“It’s been such an honor to partner with Republic FC to bring together the Sacramento sports and art communities,” said Lin. “ The entire city of Sacramento has welcomed me with open arms. I’m excited for future collaborations and can’t wait for the 2019 season.”

This is the fourth time that Republic FC has partnered with a local artist to design its season ticket member scarf. In 2015, the club collaborated with performance artist David Garibaldi to design the first “artist scarf.” Republic FC collaborated with visual artist Raphael Delgado for the 2017 scarf, while this season’s design was created by visual artist Maren Conrad.
Lin’s “artist scarf” will be exclusively given to all 2019 season ticket members as part of their membership benefits and will be available at the annual season ticket member party early next year. The deadline to renew season tickets for next season is September 8.
A professional artist from Shenyang, China, Lin moved to Sacramento after completing her Master’s degree in neo-expressionism oil painting from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. Lin has experience working and painting in over a dozen countries and has participated in exhibitions in Europe, Asia and the United States. She is currently taking part in Wide Open Walls, an annual mural festival in Sacramento bringing over 40 local, national and international artists to help turn alleyways and walls across the city into photo ops and conversation starters. This year’s event runs from August 9 to 19.
