TAMPA, Fla. (March 26, 2019) — Sacramento Republic FC forward has been voted the USL Championship Player of the Week for Week 3 of the 2019 season. The club’s all-time leading scorer recorded a hat trick in the span of 11 minutes, and also tallied an assist, to lead his side to a 4-1 victory against OKC Energy FC at Papa Murphy’s Park on Sunday afternoon.

Iwasa received 62 percent of the poll conducted by a national panel of independent media representing every USL Championship market. ATL UTD 2’s Romario Williams finished second with 24 percent after also recording a hat trick in his side’s 3-3 draw with the Charlotte Independence on Saturday night.

Republic FC will look to continue its undefeated start to the season when it travels to Tacoma, Washington, to take on the Tacoma Defiance (formerly Seattle Sounders FC 2) this Monday, April 1. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
