On Thursday, Sacramento Republic FC and the City of Sacramento held a press conference at the Downtown Railyards to announce our MLS stadium term sheet, which will go to Sacramento City Council for approval on Tuesday. Below are some highlights:
Mayor Darrell Steinberg: “Now it’s time to show Major League Soccer that the businesses and fans in Sacramento stand strongly behind our Republic. I’m confident that if we finalize this agreement, we will be the next MLS city.”
Club Chairman and CEO Kevin Nagle: “You all know how much I love Sacramento. I invest here daily and am thrilled at the opportunity to help drive transformational change for our region. My belief in this club and community is infinite, as is our potential.”
Club President and COO Ben Gumpert: “At our club we like to say it takes a Republic. In other words, what you can achieve with a cohesive, driven, and collaborative group of people far outweighs what we can each do individually.”
