Sacramento Republic FC will welcome Club America U-20s for an international friendly this Tuesday at Papa Murphy’s Park. This will be the first encounter between Republic FC and Club America, one of the most storied clubs in Mexican soccer. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.
Six players who have been playing and training with Club America’s first team during preseason have joined the U-20s squad for the friendly: Luis Zamudio, Arturo Sánchez , Ramón Juárez, Alan Arreola, Israel García, and Paolo Ríos. García and Sánchez both appeared in America’s friendlies against Boca Juniors, River Plate and Pumas. Juárez, Arreola and Ríos all saw minutes in the matches against River Plate and Pumas.

Las Aguilas U-20 squad enters Tuesday’s friendly off a 3-2 loss to Reno 1868 FC. America went down 1-0, before going up 2-1 into the halftime break. Las Aguilas couldn’t hold on to the lead, though, and conceded in the 68th and 69th minutes for Reno to take the win.
For their part, Republic FC head into the match off a crucial win against Portland Timbers 2. Hayden Partain had the match’s only goal, tapping in a cross from newcomer Juan Barahona. This was Barahona’s first start with Republic FC since joining the club in June.
