Five weeks into the U.S. Soccer Development Academy season and all Republic FC Academy age groups were in action over the weekend. Let’s check up on how the youngsters in Old Glory Red are doing this season…
U-19s
The Republic FC U-18/19s played out a 1-1 draw against De Anza Force on Sept. 29. The Indomitable Club fell behind 1-0 but equalized in the 65th minute by way of a Nathaniel Carrasco strike. Carrasco’s form has been red hot, given the young forward netted the week before against LA Galaxy U-18/19s and again against FC Juarez in an international friendly on Oct. 9. The goal against Juarez was his first with the senior team. The U-19s return to action on Saturday, October 19 at San Jose Earthquakes U-18/19s.

The Indomitable Club’s U-16/17s were downed by De Anza Force, 3-2, on Sept. 29. The boys in Old Glory Red took a 2-0 lead before the hosts stormed back. Both Giovanni Ceja and Alex Medina found the back of the net for the second time in three games. The U-17s will be gunning for the first win of the season on October 19 at San Jose Earthquakes U-16/17s.

Jacob Balinsat and Victor Vieyra beat the Placer goalkeeper for a goal a piece while Matteo Salcedo, Talan Rochelle and Isaac Emojong each bagged a brace. Ermias Yohannes and Angad Singh continued to showcase their goal-scoring prowess as both young forwards scored a hat trick.
