April 2, 2016– Club Legend’s First Career Game-Winner
It was the first of many, many times that Cameron Iwasa played the role of hero for his hometown club. With the game deadlock at zero in the 79th minute against Arizona United SC, the Sacramento native entered the match and just five minutes later scored the game winning goal to lift SRFC to a 1-0 win at home on opening day. It was Iwasa’s first career game-winner with the Indomitable Club during league play, and the first of his 12 league goals on the 2016 campaign.

Following the match, a fired-up Iwasa talked about how massive the home opener win was.
“I was buzzing to get on the field,” Iwasa said following the match. “As a sub you just want to come on and make something happen and fortunately, I was able to do so. Ultimately it was just a huge win. Three points is crucial.”
