March 17, 2018 – First Opening Day Home Game
For the first time in the club’s existence, Republic FC finally hosted an opening day regular season home game to kick off a new campaign. The Indomitable Club had a tall task against the Texan club ahead of them, given San Antonio finished second in the Western Conference the previous season. Current players on the club named to the starting XI for the 2018 opener included defender Shannon Gomez, midfielders Jaime Villarreal and Villyan Bijev, and forward Cameron Iwasa.
March 17, 2018 – First Opening Day Home Game
For the first time in the club’s existence, Republic FC finally hosted an opening day regular season home game to kick off a new campaign. During a season that featured a Phoenix Rising FC side that won 20+ consecutive home games, Monarchs beat the record-setting Southwestern club twice, and once during postseason play. Against the eventual postseason champions, Republic FC showed tremendous resilience on opening night.
