The boys in Old Glory Red – representing the Mexican National Team – fell just shy of a second half comeback against Charleston Battery – competing as Greece – in Friday’s Division B Third Place showdown.
Current Republic FC defender Juan Barahona was in control of El Tri and despite going 2-0 down before the break, the Salvadorian left back continued pushing forward and cut the deficit in half in the 84th minute by way of Hirving Lozano. The Napoli playmaker picked out Jonathan dos Santos sprinting into the box where the midfielder drove with possession to the end line before laying a perfectly weighted ball into space for ‘Chucky’ to rifle into the back of the net.
