It might not have been the result the Indomitable Club was hoping for, but Monday night's 3-3 draw at home against Tacoma was the tenth time Defiance has played in Sacramento and not once has the Pacific Northwest club left with a victory.
In ten USL Championship clashes, the boys in Old Glory Red have never been beaten by Tacoma in the California Capital.
Republic FC also continued it's unbeaten run during the 2020 USL Championship regular season with a second straight draw following a 1-1 result against FC Tulsa back in March.
Even though the team certainly wanted a win, Mark Briggs' men have turned their attention to Reno 1868 FC but before we look ahead to Sunday's 6 p.m. PT home fixture on ESPN 2, let's see what the boss and the first-time goal-scorer with the Indomitable Club had to say after Monday's match.

On what the team needs to do heading into the next match…
“We got to get back to work tomorrow and regroup and refocus for Reno on Sunday.”
On the Black Lives Matter pregame moments and messages the players and coaches shared in unity…
“It’s something that we wanted to do as players, as a club and staff, something that was spoken about and something everybody believes in and it was a pretty impactful and powerful moment.”
On if the team has a new mental approach heading into the reformatted regular season…
“We need to be focused, we need to be ready to go and we need to be prepared. I felt like the week of training was good and I felt the preparation was good and you know, sometimes you don’t have the performances you want, but ultimately the different schedule I don’t think that should affect a player’s mentality too much.”

On his first-career goal for the boys in Old Glory Red…
“It’s great to finally score, I wish the fans were out here to celebrate with them but I’m confident they were watching at home and we appreciate the support.”
On the set piece score and Rodrigo Lopez's delivery…
“RoRo is going to put good balls in the box and I know I’m someone who can get up and head the ball so just doing what I do best and hopefully I can link up with him more often.”
