Over 100 large packing boxes chalked full of school supplies for students this school year including backpacks, paper, pencils, markets, etc. were donated on August 31.
The supplies gathered will help to serve up to 2,000 families in the greater Sacramento region and an additional $1,700 was donated by generous fans and community members.
“This school year will be unlike any other year these kids have experienced, so doing our part to help get them the supplies they need to continue to grow their young minds is of extreme importance,” Republic FC President and COO Ben Gumpert said. “Thanks to SMUD, KCRA and the giving spirit of our fans, more students in our community are in a stronger position to succeed.”
