The last few days have been ripe with mouthwatering matchups from all over the globe and believe it or not, the weekend’s slate is potentially going to be even better.
Midweek UEFA Champions and Europa League action included a number of pulsating contests that featured some of the biggest clubs in the world’s game. FC Porto knocked Juventus out of the European competition while PSG prevailed 5-2 in the aggregate over Barcelona following a 1-1 score line – despite Lionel Messi netting a stunner.
A handful of domestic league fixtures also played out since the previous round of weekend contests with both Manchester City and Atletico Madrid earning wins on Wednesday to add to their leads at the top of their respective domestic standings.
