Cesar Chavez Day celebrates the life and work of one of America’s greatest champions for social justice. Chavez, an American farm worker, educator, activist, founded the National Farm Worker Association (now known as United Farm Workers) with Dolores Huerta, and Gilbert Padilla. The association fought tirelessly to improve the working conditions of farm workers from all backgrounds.
Through the United Farm Workers Foundation, the organization has responded quickly during the COVID-19 pandemic to keep farm workers safe and healthy through PPE drives and vaccination clinics.
