Five full weeks into training camp and the squad is looking better and better by the day.
Last Friday, Republic FC hosted an exhibition scrimmage against the San Jose Earthquakes U23s – another strong competition for Sacramento to log valuable minutes against prior to the start of the 2021 USL Championship campaign.
But a new week brought a refreshed focus as the boys in Old Glory Red returned to the training pitch for another week of hard work under the California sun.
Away from the field, the Indomitable Club was receiving a tremendous amount of praise from supporters around the league as it was announced on Monday that SRFC won the fan-vote for early release from the #FlagsFlyForever Culture Collection.
But the good news didn’t stop there – as Sacramento stormed through the opening rounds of the bracket and as of Friday, into the Semifinal Round that kicked off Friday morning. Supporters can still vote to send Republic FC into the Final Round and can do so by voting here.

Players on the pitch were receiving accolades from the league headquarters as well as Fatai Alashe was named to Nicholas Murray’s top defensive midfielders to keep an eye on in 2021. Murray also gave some love to another newly acquired SRFC midfielder – Luis Felipe – who he also mentioned in his post.
