This Wednesday, when the Boys in Old Glory Red take on El Paso Locomotive FC at Southwest University Stadium at 6 p.m., the club will host its first away watch party with a special purpose.
The free to attend event will not only fire up the fans as preparations for next week’s massive U.S. Open Cup match get underway, it will support the club’s community goals during Mental Health Awareness Month.
Thanks to the club’s partners at Jackrabbit Brewing Company, 20% of every beer sold to fans in Old Glory Red gear will benefit NAMI Sacramento. The local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness provides support, education, resources and outreach activities to families, friends and persons with mental illness so as to improve their general welfare, and to reduce the stigma of mental illness. Wednesday’s donation will help support the programming throughout the region. Throughout the month, Jackrabbit Brewing Company will donate 50% of the sales to NAMI Sacramento from their special ‘Blue Tap’ which rotates monthly to benefit various charities and local organizations.
A massive LED wall is being brought in to show the game, featuring Republic’s FC broadcast team on the call.
Wednesday’s watch party is free to attend – and the first 50 Indomitable Members will receive a free beer courtesy of the club and Jackrabbit Brewing Co. The party kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and will help set the stage for a huge week in Sacramento soccer history.
