Join in Republic FC’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations and support a good cause.
To help kick off the month, Republic FC released its annual Hispanic Heritage Month merchandise capsule. Designed in-house by Republic FC’s creative team, the collection carries on the club’s tradition of incorporating sugar skulls, symbolizing Día De Los Muertos. The holiday – which originated in Mexico – is typically celebrated at the end of October, when families welcome back the souls of their deceased relatives for a brief reunion and celebration.
The limited-edition Hispanic Heritage merchandise line features a scarf, shirt, tote bag, shot glass, hat, and decal.
In commitment to supporting the region’s Hispanic youth, Republic FC is pledging 10% of proceeds from the 2022 Hispanic Heritage Juntos Scarf to La Familia Counseling Center in South Sacramento. For more than 40 years, La Familia has provided multicultural counseling, outreach and support services to low income, at-risk youth and families in Sacramento. All of the services are free and bilingual staff members are available to meet the needs of the diverse Sacramento community through a wide variety of programs – such as healthcare and mental health services, after-school programs, and parenting classes.
Over the past few years, Republic FC and La Familia have developed a unique partnership rooted in community wellness. In 2019, the Indomitable Club unveiled its first-ever community futsal project – Maple Park Courts – right across the street from La Familia’s campus in South Sacramento. The courts were the first public futsal courts in the city and now provide a safe place for kids and community members to stay active year-round. The partners continued their efforts in 2021, when they teamed up to provide free COVID-19 vaccinations to the public.
Republic FC’s Hispanic Heritage Month festivities continue on Wednesday, September 28, when the club hosts Phoenix Rising FC for its annual Noche Latina match powered by SMUD. Throughout the night, Republic FC will recognize and honor the Hispanic and Latino community through special food and beverage options, entertainment, presentations, storytelling, and more. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and will be broadcast in English and Spanish on Antenna TV 40.2, FOX40.com and the FOX40 News mobile app, as well as streaming on ESPN+. Tickets are available at SacRepublicFC.com/Tickets.
