Last week, Republic FC was represented in the USL Championship’s annual poll for Goal of the Year. Midfielder Luis Felipe’s stoppage-time equalizer, which sole a point away from Oakland Roots at the death on July 9 and was nominated as the month’s top score, was honored as one of the best of the season. The fans have spoken – and voted the Brazilian’s goal on to the semifinal round – defeating Oakland’s Charlie Dennis.
Next, the midfielder’s score will go up against New Mexico United forward Neco Brett’s chipshot score against El Paso Locomotive FC. Voting is open now through Friday, December 9 at 9:00 a.m. PT at USLSoccer.com. A simple registration is required to vote – and fans who registered to vote for the quarterfinal round can use the same credentials.
