Earlier this week, Republic FC announced the full schedule for the club’s 10th season. From regional rivalries and first-time opponents, to cross-country trips…here’s what’s in store for the Indomitable Club in 2023.
2 – Number of home games during the California State Fair & Food Festival
Number of home games during the California State Fair & Food Festival. On July 15 & 26, all fans with a match ticket will also receive free entry to the State Fair. This fan-favorite special is back for another year to provide a one-of-a-kind experience that simply can’t be beat!
3 – Longest homestand
Republic FC will have two 3-game homestands during the season (Mar. 18 – Apr. 1 vs. Charleston, San Diego, and Louisville / June 17 – July 1 vs. Monterey Bay, San Antonio, and RGV). Let’s hope history repeats itself this year: during a 3-game homestand in 2022, Sacramento put up impressive appearances in front of its Indomitable Fans, outscoring opponents 7-1.
4 – Longest road stretch
Sacramento will head out on the road for 4 straight weeks, July 29 – Aug. 19 to face off with Las Vegas Lights FC, Monterey Bay FC, Birmingham Legion FC, and Loudoun United FC. This will be a tough challenge for the Boys in Old Glory Red, who haven’t been away from Heart Health Park for this long since 2020.
4 – Number of 2023 opponents that Republic FC faced in the inaugural 2014 season.
Orange County SC (Orange County Blues), Phoenix Rising FC (Arizona United SC), Pittsburgh Riverhounds, Charleston Battery. With just 14 teams in the league that year, Republic FC played each of these clubs 3 times, posting an impressive 7-2-1 record.
5 – Number of first-time opponents
Indy Eleven, Hartford Athletic, Tampa Bay Rowdies, Memphis 901 FC, Miami FC. That makes it 45 different clubs that Republic FC has played in 10 seasons.
8 – Number of matches against California rivals
Bragging rights are up for grabs at Heart Health Park and throughout the state when Sacramento faces off with San Diego Loyal SC (Mar. 25 at home / June 9 away), Orange County SC (May 17 away / Aug. 26 at home), Oakland Roots SC (May 20 at home / Sept. 2 away), and Monterey Bay FC (June 17 at home / Aug. 5 away).

With USL Championship’s new competition format for the season, Republic FC will face off with every club in the league for the first time since 2015.

Soccer Saturdays are back! That’s 27 chances to catch Republic FC in action – at Heart Health Park or on FOX40/Antenna TV.
82 – Number of miles to the closest away game
Fans can make the quick trip to see the Indomitable Club take on Oakland Roots SC on Sept. 2 at Laney College.
This Norcal rivalry remains locked up across the board, with 5 matches being played to a draw and each club posting a win. Sacramento will have 2 opportunities to pull ahead in head-to-head results, but with the passion that we’ve seen in previous meetings, that will certainly be no easy feat.

The longest away trip of the season (May 26). That’s 714 trips from Republic FC’s midtown office to Heart Health Park (and back again).
