The Sacramento region is home to a wealth of young players – fueling a strong soccer community with tremendous passion for the game and talent on the pitch. In recent years, many who call the capitol region home have moved on to the professional ranks and featured for college programs, showcasing their talents at the next level. Later this spring, Republic FC is looking to support those looking to reach those same heights and move on in their amateur careers, hosting a College ID camp for boys’ high school and junior college players on Saturday, March 4.
The single-day camp will give boys’ high school and two-year college players the opportunity to be evaluated by college coaches from throughout the region, both on the field and off, in addition to the club’s staff. Participants will get the opportunity to play in small and large-sided matches throughout the day in morning and afternoon sessions.
A mid-day panel with coaches in attendance will allow student-athletes the chance to hear directly from coaches about the process of advancing from club to college, NCAA rules and regulations, as well as ask questions about the recruiting process. Coaches from seven college programs in the region – Sacramento State, Santa Clara University, San Jose State University, William Jessup University, Stanislaus State, Sonoma State and Chico State – will be present to evaluate and speak with participating players.
