This weekend, U-13 and U-14 Academy squads put on an offensive showcase in MLS NEXT play, outscoring their opponents 26-3 across four contests. Taking on a pair of Bay Area sides, each squad tallied a two victories to maintain their position at the top of the Northwest Division standings.

Da’vian Kimbrough led the U-14s to a thrilling 10-0 win to start the weekend, finding the back of the net on three occasions. The midfielder opened the scoring in the 14th minute and twice more after the hour mark. The match saw six different players get on the score sheet, with additional goals from by Evin Galvan, Sebastian Cordova, Sean Hanafee, Joshua Emojong and Warren Boyce. Sunday’s fixture for the U-14s also saw six different scorers, including Kimbrough who scored his fourth goal on the weekend. Defender Ty Saetern scored his first goal of the season after a 50-yard run through midfield and chipping the opposing goalkeeper from outside the penalty box.
The U13 squad kicked off action Saturday with their own shutout victory, taking a 5-0 win. After netting two scores in the U14’s match, Midfielder Evin Galvan continued an unstoppable day with two more in the later contest, netting two scores in two minutes. Forward Declan Luigs also tallied two scores and midfielder Grayson Utush added his name to the scoresheet in the second half. Sunday against Napa United, a pair of braces from forward Jonah Douhab and right-back David Quintanilla and an additional goal from Grayson Utush led another five-score performance.
Looking Ahead
Next week, the U-14s will look to keep their momentum going as they host Breakers FC. The following weekend, all four academy teams will return to action as the U-13s and U-14s face Napa United and the U-15s and U-17s face SF Glens. The U-14s are currently positioned in third place with 51 points in standings. Just three points separate the top three teams in the U-14 Northwest Division table, while the U-13s have sole possession of second place with 61 points – just three back of De Anza force in the top spot.
