Earlier today, the USL Championship announced the Week 27 Team of the Week. For his contributions in Saturday night’s contest against Orange County SC, Republic FC midfielder Memo Rodriguez has earned his third Team of the Week selection of the season, tying him for the team lead.
Memo drove Republic FC’s attack throughout the night with 13 crosses and a game-high four chances created. His set pieces threatened OC’s backline, and in the 83rd minute, the Indomitable Club cashed in to bring the match level. Rodriguez placed a perfect in-swinging corner in front of goal, allowing substitute Aaron Essel to get a touch to the ball and push it over the goal line. Memo now leads the team with five regular season assists.
Republic FC is now undefeated in its last five matches, the club’s longest unbeaten stretch since July – August 2025. With eight regular season games, the club continues to push to secure a playoff spot in an extremely tight Western Conference field.
The Indomitable Club returns to action this Saturday to open a two-game homestand against Eastern Conference club Detroit City FC. Kickoff from Heart Health Park is at 7:00 p.m.
On Sunday, September 20, the Capital City steps into the national sports spotlight as Republic FC hosts San Antonio FC for a Western Conference clash that will air on ESPN2. The matinee match kicks off at 4:00 p.m. and tickets are available now at SacRepublicFC.com.
