Earlier today, the USL Championship nominated Republic FC midfielder Memo Rodriguez for Week 31 Goal of the Week. The fan vote is now open through Wednesday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. PT at USLChampionship.com.
Last Wednesday, down a goal at home against Las Vegas, Memo made the most of Republic FC’s first shot on target of the night. Playing out of the back, eight different Sacramento players got a touch on the ball before Danny Crisostomo laid the ball off to Memo. The 30-year-old used one touch to set up his shot and fired off a laser that completely froze the goalkeeper from 25 yards out.
Memo went on to lead Republic FC’s comeback to secure the team’s second straight win and ninth undefeated result.
Rodriguez, who joined the Indomitable Club this season following a distinguished career in MLS, has been an integral part of Republic FC’s recent run of form. He leads the team with 13 goal contributions (six goals, seven assists) and has scored four goals in the last three matches.
Just three games remain in the regular season, starting with Saturday’s home match against Colorado Springs Switchbacks on Noche Latina. From a pre-game Noche Latina Fiesta featuring live entertainment, to exclusive limited-edition merchandise, to special ticket package options – this is a night that fans won’t want to miss. The match kicks off at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are available now at SacRepublicFC.com.
