Sacramento entered the postseason with the West’s second seed after closing out the regular season on a 13-game undefeated streak and on Sunday posted its third straight win. Sacramento native and Republic FC Academy product Blake Willey netted the game-winner in front of his hometown crowd, making him the youngest player in USL Championship history to record a game-winning goal in the playoffs.
Heart Health Park continues to be a fortress for Republic FC, who posted the best home record in the Western Conference this year. Backed by the most passionate fans in the USL, the Indomitable Club has turned its home pitch into one of the toughest environments for opponents. To pack even more energy and excitement into the night, fans will receive a Republic FC-branded cowbell at entry on Saturday night.
