Viader, a Barcelona, Spain native, signed with Republic FC in 2022. In his first season with the Indomitable Club, he was a regular part of the roster, appearing in 30 league matches and notching over 2,000 minutes while adding 3 goals. He appeared in all 7 of the club’s Open Cup matches, and converted the opening penalty in the Semifinal shootout against MLS side Sporting Kansas City – setting up Republic FC to go 5 for 5 from the spot.
He began his professional career stateside with Union Omaha in 2020. Before coming to the United States, he was a member of FC Barcelona and Girona FC’s youth development programs and logged a season with CE Europa in Spain’s Segunda División B. In 2020, he joined Union Omaha for the Nebraska club’s inaugural season in USL League One play. In two pro seasons, he has reached the USL League One Final in back-to-back years – and won the title with Omaha in 2021.
During Union Omaha’s 2021 title run, Viader appeared in 30 matches (29 starts) and led the club in minutes played. On the offensive side of the ball, he netted 7 goals – tied for 14th in League One, tallied 6 assists – 5th in League One, and created 61 scoring chances – tied for first in the entire league. His defensive presence helped Union Omaha to the league’s best record. Damià finished the season with 61 interceptions, 67 tackles and 176 duels won, and was named USL League One Defender of the Year with 60 percent of the vote by technical staff and executives representing every team in the league. Before joining Union Omaha, Damià spent time at Barton Community College and Iowa Western Community College, as well as NPSL side Duluth FC in 2019.
