Republic FC camps and clinics provide the club an opportunity to support the development of talent in the Sacramento region. The camps and clinics offer youth players of all ages throughout the Sacramento region an opportunity to refine their skills with instruction from Republic FC’s professional soccer players and coaches.
The Spring Break Attacking and Defending Clinic is designed for youth players who are looking to improve their ability on and off of the ball. The clinic will focus on individual technical skills in both attacking and defending situations to help players improve any weaknesses in these areas. The clinic is a total of two hours, during which players will work and receive instruction from experienced Republic FC training staff.
The following week, from Mar. 28 through Mar. 30, Republic FC will host their Spring Break Total Player Development Camp, which is designed to focus on overall player development. Each day of camp will focus on a different aspect of the game—such as footwork, defending or finishing, in combination with a variety of group play and match simulation exercises.
Each of Republic FC’s camps and clinics are uniquely designed so no two events are alike, providing each youth athlete with an opportunity to develop technical and tactical knowledge of the sport in a professional and fun environment. With several prominent youth clubs in the area, Republic FC’s camps and clinics provide an invaluable opportunity for young up-and-coming players who want to improve their game. Camps and clinics often feature first team players alongside the club’s highly experienced staff working with the participants.
The camps and clinics are not only designed to help players improve their technical abilities, but also aim to build character and teach participants the value of putting their full effort forward in anything they do in life. Having Republic FC players and coaches participate in the camps and clinics provides an added benefit of showing kids how their dedication can pay off.
“We realize that not every player has the intention of becoming a professional, but the work ethic is something that carries over not just into their soccer teams but also into their lives,” said Republic FC Camps and Clinics Coordinator and Video Analyst Chris Malenab. “We want to teach these kids that whatever goal they have, they have to work for it. Part of our mission isn’t just to build better soccer players but help influence good character. Those are strong messages, and we’re fortunate to have the players out there that have made it to the professional level, but are still pushing themselves everyday.”
Republic FC are also set to host number of additional camps and clinics currently scheduled throughout the year. For more information about additional Camps and Clinics, visit www.sacrepublicfc.com.
