Republic FC are encouraging fans to support this member of the club’s family by making a donation to a Go Fund Me set up on behalf of the Castillo family by family friend, Melissa Pero Brown.
“Castillo and his family have given so much to the Sacramento Soccer community,” wrote Republic FC Executive Vice President Joe Wagoner on Facebook. “I'm hoping he can now receive. Raul's family lost absolutely everything in a house fire last week…I know it is a tough time to be asking, but if you have the means, please consider helping this family in their time of need.”
In addition to losing their family home of 20 years, the family—which had four children ages 3-8 living there—lost their furniture, training equipment for youth soccer teams where they volunteered, clothes and other daily life essentials.
Castillo and his family are mainstays in both the Sacramento soccer community at-large and the Republic FC community, and have attended numerous Republic FC matches since the club’s inaugural season.
Republic FC fans can help the Castillo family begin to rebuild and heal by making a donation via Go Fund Me here. Additionally, fans interested in helping the family find clothes, especially for the children, are asked to contact Wagoner directly at jwagoner@https://www.sacrepublicfc.com.
