Sacramento Republic FC fans are known around the USL for their indomitable spirit, but this holiday season the club’s fans are going above and beyond in the spirit of giving.
- More than 200 toys, books have been donated to Sacramento Children’s Home and the Sacramento Library
- Fans, players and community members have donated more than $5,000 to family who lost house in fire via Go Fund Me
- Team Store continuing to accept donations for Castillo family, as well as Children’s Home and the Sacramento Library
Starting Dec. 7, Republic FC kicked off a holiday book and toy drive benefitting the Sacramento Children’s Home and the Sacramento Library. To-date, Republic FC fans have donated more than 200 books and toys.
The toys collected will go to the Sacramento Children’s Home. A local nonprofit, the organization is dedicated to caring for the community's most vulnerable children and families and provides a variety of services to families in crisis and troubled or abused children.
Meanwhile, the books are going to the Sacramento Library, which serves more than 1.3 million people through the Sacramento region and works to inspire communities to discover, learn and grow.
Republic FC fans may continue to bring donations of new books and toys, as the Team Store will continue to accept donations. Fans who donate a book or toy will receive a Republic FC mug and sample of Seasons coffee as a thank you gift. One mug per person who makes a donation, while supplies last. This mug is not sold through the Team Store and is available exclusively with a toy or book donation.
In addition to the club’s holiday book and toy drive, Republic FC fans, players and staff have generously responded to help the Castillos, a family of Republic FC fans who lost all their possessions in a house fire last week. Fans, players and community members have donated more than $5,000 to a Go Fund Me to assist the Castillo family.
