Sacramento, Calif., June 20, 2017 – Sacramento Republic FC today announced the launch of a new town hall series as part of the club’s #BringItHome initiative.
“Sacramento Republic FC fans are some of the most savvy, creative, and committed soccer fans in the country,” said Republic FC owner Kevin Nagle. “As we enter a key phase in our journey to MLS, their insights and perspective will be vital to ensuring that the stadium and overall bid represents the very best of Sacramento.”
The town halls represent the latest effort within the “20,000 Voices” component of #BringItHome, marking the number of new direct touchpoints with fans which will occur before December. The town halls are tailored to specific groups of fans and stakeholders and discussions will focus on topics including MLS stadium design and amenities, match day experience, food and beer offerings, technology and sustainability initiatives. The first town hall in the #BringItHome series was held recently with the Tower Bridge Battalion (TBB), Republic FC’s renowned supporter group. TBB members met with the stadium project team to discuss core match experience features, including the pre-match procession pathway that TBB would lead to the stadium.
Listed below are the next three scheduled town halls:
- Thursday, June 22nd; 5-7 p.m. at Fairytale Town Theater (YOUTH ONLY EVENT)
- Topic: Youth Movement: What do kids want at the new stadium?
- Monday, June 26th; 6-8 p.m. at Rubicon Brewery, West Sacramento
- Topic: Food, beer and all things “Farm-to-Field”
- Tuesday, June 27th; 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Sac Republic FC Headquarters
- Topic: Wall of Fans: Building the best home-pitch advantage
Fans will have direct access to club decision makers including Nagle, Republic FC Co-Founder Warren Smith, team executives, stadium architects and construction managers, and community leaders. Those interested in participating should register online by visiting www.sacrepublicfc.com/bring-it-home. Space is limited for all events and sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional events will be posted to the website as they are added to the calendar.
Sacramento is currently one of 12 cities vying for four MLS expansion slots. MLS has indicated that it will announce at least two of the four expansion cities by December 2017.
